Carl Rakich is a serial entrepreneur who, after graduating from college with a BA Degree in English, spent several years as a high school teacher and coach before taking the plunge and starting his first small business, a local trophy and awards company in Akron, Ohio.

After selling the awards company in the late 1970’s, Carl began a successful sales career in the pharmaceutical industry, calling on doctors and major hospitals throughout Ohio and Western PA. In addition, he and his wife, Jean, owned and operated a floral and gift shop, in the Akron area, for over 10 years.

For fifteen years, Carl held executive positions with an industry-leading, national franchise company in the home services industry. Moving from Director of Operations to Executive Vice President, he ultimately became the President and an equity owner of the national organization, which includes 40 franchised locations in 20 states. The company was sold to private investors in May, 2007.

In his career as a business owner and corporate executive, Carl has conducted hundreds of interviews, and hired/developed scores of employees for various positions in the fields of sales, management and administration.

Today, Carl coaches individuals desiring to start a new business, existing small business owners who want to grow and sales professionals. He specializes in helping professional service providers and small sales teams become more successful by combining psychology and technology to build stronger, longer-lasting relationships.

A graduate of the Leadership Akron Program, he is an Authorized Virtual Incubator Business Startup, a Business Booster Coach and a Certified Platinum Rule® Trainer.

Anne Miner is an entrepreneur, a visionary leader and an acknowledged expert in the field of customer care and customer retention; she helps companies build strong competitor-resistant relationships with both internal and external customers. She holds a BA and an MBA from the University of Guelph, she is a certified trainer of the Platinum Rule® and she was among the first researchers in Canada to be awarded the prestigious designation of “Certified Marketing Research Professional” by the Professional Marketing Research Society (now the Marketing Research & Intelligence Association).

Anne has successfully integrated the Platinum Rule® philosophy and practices into her own organization to help build strong bonds with employees and clients alike. She provides training and coaching to support teams, as well as individuals, in adapting their own behaviors to “treat others the way they would like to be treated”.

Dr. Ed Cerny

Dr. Ed Cerny (pronounced Sir*knee – means “black” in Czech.) grew up all over the world as an Army brat – Europe, the Pacific Rim, the Caribbean and the U.S. He has successfully coached at both the high school and college ranks. His business experience includes being a textile marketing executive for the Allied Chemical Corp. in NY City and a marketing and sales director for several Nautilus Fitness Centers.

Ed earned a BA from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from Fordham University in NY and a Ph.D. from USC. Dr. Cerny was a marketing professor at Coastal Carolina University from 1983 to 1995. He is the author of Learn to Market Yourself, Notes From the Coach, Old Coaches Never Die, We Just Run Out of Timeouts! and An Adventure Through the 7 Levels of Change.

In 1995 Dr. Cerny founded the Coach’s Corner – a corporate encouragement company. He creates visioning, leadership and team building programs for both large and small companies. Ed is known as the “Encouragement Coach.”

Coach Cerny is a certified trainer for The Platinum Rule®.

Ed and his wife, Zoe Ann, have been married since 1971. Zoe Ann is a faculty member at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. The Lord has blessed them with four wonderful children, three grandsons & two granddaughters. All three of our daughters are now married. All four children have graduated from college. Carrie, Jason & Troy & Zoe live in Tega Cay, SC. Jenny & Tyler, Bennett, Jessup, & Mazie live in Morgantown, WV. Kelly & Nic live in Columbia, SC. Zach lives in Ft. Worth, TX. The family has been involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes since 1976.
